VIGIL FOR DARFUR IN THE BIG APPLE: Every Tuesday lunchtime, there is a vigil outside the building of the US mission to the UN, calling for international intervention in Darfur to avert the humanitarian catastrophe taking place there.

Its at 140, East 45th St, between 12 and 2, and the people there are really great and welcoming, so come along sometime and stay for a little while. Passers-by are showing increasing interest, it seems. Hopefully it will appeal to those who don't want to watch the film 'Hotel Darfur' in ten years time.

Comments:
Good article in the most recent Economist on South Africa's potential to affect this problem. The problem is too little force too late.
