Also of interest, Chile outguns the USA, as does France. Which would probably earn the rebuke of Victor Hanson. Austria beats the Netherlands, even though the Dutch don't jail people for saying stupid things about history.
Here's a satellite emblem of the gap between North and South Korea.
There is one glitch though. A certain archipelago of strange-accented, tree-hugging folk outguns Oz. Must have cheated. (2) opinions -- Add your opinion
I think the Korea map is probably a fake. No lights in N. Korea maybe, but none in China? Looks like a sloppy photoshop job.
I think it is real. Check out this whole earth composite. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0208/earthlights02_dmsp_big.jpgIt shows South Korea almost as an island. Interestingly, one could correlate per capita light intensity with personal freedoms pretty well. Brignt lights in Western Europe, North America, Austraila, NZ, Japan, etc. No light in North Korea, most of Africa, most of the Mid East, except for Israel. Compare Cuba and Jamaca.
