BUZZ ALDRIN CALLS for a launch platform near the moon as a port for future missions to the moon, Mars, and the asteroid belt, and recourse to the private market for development of a future orbital space plane. He also complains that the dominance of orbital contracts to Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman has been squeezing out smaller, entrepreneurial companies which are more creative and less risk-averse than the large contractors.

Sounds like a strong argument. (And it doesn't seem to be compromised, actually, by the fact that Dr Aldrin is chair of one such small company.)
