Gore didn't say policy; American slavery was inherited; it was commercial rather than strategic; and there was no mistake on our part in ending it.

How about Acheson suggesting Korea was outside the American defensive perimeter?

Or Bush abandoning the Shia in 1991, when Saddam had no opportunity to prepare the Fedayeen, Iran was weak, and al Qaeda didn't exist, in order to preserve the 'legitimacy' that can only come from international institutions like the Arab League?

Or the war of 1812, Vietnam, WWI, WWII and maybe the civil war.

The worst strategy would lead to a war within the nation.

Second worst is a world war you didn't need to fight that racks the dead by the 100,000's. Saddam was more of a threat in the 90's and early 00's than Hitler ever was. There was no way Nazi Germany could have actually threatened the U.S.

Third worst involves D.C. burning to the ground. I'm glad the filthy redcoats enjoyed the storm. (voting to burn down buildings is/was hilarious)

WWI and Vietnam both count as pointless wars. The action taken did not count for much in the long run.
